The batter hit the ball completely out of the park for a home run and batted in all the players on base for a Grand Slam. The crowd went wild!
The crowds visiting Home Plate, the home of retired Atlanta Braves relief pitcher Mark Wohlers and his family, which has been open for the last three weeks as the 16th Annual Roswell Woman’s Club Showcase Home Tour, have universally praised the setting, the architecture, and the decor.
You don’t want to miss out. It’s not too late to visit. The house will be open today from 1:00 to 6:00.
Tickets can be purchased online or at outlets in The Chandlery (www.chandlerygifts.com) on Canton Street in Roswell’s Historic District, and at Sip (www.sipwineshop.com) on Crabapple Road in Alpharetta/Milton for $18 or you can purchase tickets at the door for $20. Parking is adjacent to the Olde Blind Dog on Crabapple Road and a shuttle transports visitors to Home Plate.
Please help support the Roswell Woman’s Club’s efforts to raise funds for college scholarships, grants for classroom teachers, and donations to numerous North Fulton charities including the Child Development Association, Homestretch, North Fulton Community Charities, North Georgia FosterCare Support, and EnAble of Georgia, which all aid families and children; Senior Services of North Fulton and Senior Enriched Living, which help senior citizens; and historical and cultural organizations including Barrington Hall, Bulloch Hall, Georgia Ensemble Theatre, Chattahoochee Nature Center, Roswell Cultural Arts Center, Roswell Historical Society, and Smith Plantation.
These pictures are just a small sampling of the beautifully decorated rooms you can see at Home Plate. You’ll also enjoy the outdoor living spaces such as the rear porch.
